The so called Brooklyn Banks are a skatespot composed of a strip of brick banks with smooth transitions. Pillars are set into the banks which are perfect for wallrides or pivots – if you can get up that high. There’s also a pretty tall 10-stair rail at the spot.

The spot is located right under the Brooklyn Bridge in downtown Manhattan, New York, USA. The spot’s bust factor is 0, even though the New York City Police Department is right across the street. In the near past the city installed fake grass at the bottom of the smaller banks, what made them unskateable. But a flatbar and a ledge on top of the bigger banks have been added in. Also some knee-high flat ledges have been built.

Thinks worth knowing

It’s said that the Sole Artists of Zoo York have been the first to skate the banks in the late 70s.
