Is it possible to access the site via my mobile phone?
Of course you can, if you have a web-enabled mobile phone, Blackberry or Palm. That’s exactly what skateboardspot.info/mobile was made for. Just enter this address into your mobile phone’s web browser and you’ll have a stripped down version of skateboardspot.info available wherever you go.
Unfortunately the mobile version isn’t as feature-rich as the “desktop browser version” but anyway it comes in quite handy when you’re in a foreign city or country and have no idea where the next skate park or spot is located.
How can I help promoting skateboardspot.info?
You’re of course welcome to help promoting skateboardspot.info among your mates and all the other skateboarders hanging around at your local skate park or shop. In case you have your own website, weblog, MySpace profile or whatever, you can use the code snippets below to include a promotional text link or banner on your site.
Alternatively you can also use your personal "favourite entries" widget and display it instead of the purely promotional banner or text link. It’ll display the last five entries you’ve added to your personal list of loved entries. So this might be usefull for both parties, you and us.
To use one of the snippets just klick in the textarea next to the snippet and press Ctrl+A followed by Ctrl+C on your keyboard. Now the code is in your clipboard, so that you can paste it to your website’s (X)HTML code.
Which languages does skateboardspot.info support?
skateboardspot.info supports literally every langauge there is on the software-side. That means that you can write spotguide entries in whatever language you want, but most likely you’ll choose the language that is spoken in the country where the spot is located. Of course there are exceptions of this rule, but here’s not the place to discuss this. You can find more information concerning that topic in the guide to creating a new spotguide entry.
The skateboardspot.info user interface so far is available in two languages: English and German. More languages can be added anytime if the users ask for it and if there’s someone that speaks the new langauge fluently and would like to voulunteer to translate the interface into his native tongue.
So if you’d like to make the website available in whatever language you want (French, Spanish, Italian, Polish, etc.), we’d be happy if you’d contact us via e-mail (admin@skateboardspot.info). We’ll answer your message as soon as possible and provide you with further details on how the translation process works, and stuff like that. So thank you in advance, dankeschön and merci beaucoup!
Will I have to pay to get access to the site and the spotguide?
The answer is simple and straight forward: No, you won’t! skateboardspot.info is a completely free of charge service. You won’t have to pay anything to get access to the site. The only thing you have to do is to fill in the registration form to create your own account, so that you can use all of the site’s features. Of course we won’t ask you for your bank account or credit card number. We know that there’s a lot of those douchebags out there on the internet and believe us, we just hate them as much as you do.
But in the end the decision is up to you. You don’t need to be registered to search for or view spotguide entries. Registration is only required if you want to create new entries, post to the forums or stuff like that. Simply because it’s necessary to prevent spam and vandalism.
Is there a browser sidebar so that I can stay up to date even when I’m not browsing the site?

Apart from the various RSS feeds we of course offer a sidebar for your browser so that you can stay up to date about the latest news and ongoings even when you’re not browsing the site. The sidebar was tested with Mozilla Firefox, Opera and Konqueror but should work well with most of the browsers out there.
To now add the skateobardspot.info sidebar to your browser, click here and follow the instructions of your browser.
In case your browser doesn’t automatically recognize the sidebar and instead opens the link (this means that it doesn’t support microformats), hit the “back” button and afterwards right click on the URL above and copy its target into your clipboard. Now you can add the sidebar manually to your browser via the corresponding browser-specific function.
On the left you can see a picture of the skateboardspot.info sidebar in Mozilla Firefox. It displays the latest news, recently added entries and recent changes. A click on one of the links will open the corresponding newspost or spotguide entry in the main browser window.
